I received an email saying someone logged into my website and changed my Logo. How can I find out what email this was?

    WP.com: Unknown

  • Hey there, your site isn’t hosted with us, so we wouldn’t have sent that email. But you can ask your host to help you track down who the email is from. WordPress itself doesn’t notify you of your own logins and site changes, at least not in any configuration I’m aware of.

I wouldn’t act on any links in the email (like a “log in” to fix it type link) until you’ve sorted out where it’s from.

If it came from your own server, ask your host to help you determine what plugin or module fired off the email. Then, contact their support to see what details they have.

If it didn’t come from your server and you’re not clear where it really did come from, please be careful. Check your own site to see if the logo is different, change your passwords, consider using 2FA, removing anyone who shouldn’t be an administrator, etc. Jetpack has more security tips here:

Then, going forward, please use the forums for the free software. The conversation there is more relevant, since you’re using a copy of the free software rather than our managed hosting service. I hope this helps!
