  Your site says the following “The optional private WHOIS upgrade is an additional $8.00 per domain per year.”.

  What is the WHOIS upgrade?

  When you register your domain, your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address need to be made public by law via a WHOIS search.

  For example, the WHOIS info for WordPress.com: http://who.wildwestdomains.com/whois.aspx?domain=wordpress.com&prog_id=wildwestdomains

  By purchasing Private WHOIS, you elect a third-party to hold your domain, thus displaying their info rather than yours.
