why are ads still appearing when I paid for the no ads upgrade?
-
I just discovered that linked ads are appearing throughout my blog. They appear to me even when I am logged in.
I am disgruntled at the fact that I had to pay $29.97 to remove these annoying in-line ads that appear to be links that I put into my posts, but are in fact links to text ads.
Since there is no information to the contrary, I assumed that the ads would be removed as soon as I paid for the upgrade 5 minutes ago. Not so. I cleared my browser cache and cookies – the ads are still appearing.
The ads appeared out of nowhere, and should disappear just as quickly, with as little effort on my part. Anything other than that is not serving your customers well.
I am contemplating migrating from WordPress due to this.
Some communication and transparency on this issue would be helpful.
The claims that these ads are unobtrusive and only appear “from time to time” and only to users who are not logged in are completely false.
I understand that WordPress is a free service, but I am paying for domain registration and now to get rid of ads.
I would hope that a company sincerely interested in customer satisfaction would make sure that their claims were true, and if they find this is not the case (especially if it is a severely dissatisfied customer who brings these false claims to the attention of the company), would make the necessary changes immediately. If this does not happen, I’m done with WordPress.

I don’t see any ads on your blog. We never show our ads to logged in users, and we also are not running text ads at this time.
Would you please take a screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New so I can see what you’re referring to?
Also, just a guess, but please try disabling any browser add-ons or extensions. The last report we had of a text ad appearing while logged in was due to a corrupt browser extension.

Looks like it was Codec (browser extension) – the text ads are gone now.
Thanks for the quick reply. -
