why are comments not showing up my blog?

  After installing and updating Jetpack, when someone comments on a post, their comment doesn’t appear in the comment area. My post shows there are comments, but I can’t reply to any of them because they aren’t visible. When I deactivate jetpack, my comment area is disabled. Evidently it deleted or deactivated my theme’s default comment files. What do I need to do to make the comments appear on the post?

  Jetpack doesn’t delete or alter any theme files.

  First, make sure that you have comments enabled via Settings -> Discussion in your blog’s Dashboard.

  If you do, temporarily switch to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if that make any difference.

  Comments were enabled and it was working fine until I updated. I deleted Jetpack, switched themes and everything looks fine again. I will re-install Jetpack and see what happens.
