Why are my blog images disappearing not long after I've posted them?

The images in my blog are being deleted automatically and I don’t know why.
Initially I thought this is because I deleted some old images from my Media Library, so I went back and re-uploaded and re-inserted them into the posts where the pictures had been deleted from. However, now I’ve seen that very recent images I’ve uploaded that are still in my media library have disappeared as well.
I don’t know why this is happening and I want the images back, because it will take me ages to replace them all and then there’s no guarantee they won’t just disappear again. Please can you help.

Also, I’d like to add that these images are disappearing from my media library, even though I am not deleting them myself. Perhaps there is a fault in my media library?

Are you the only admin of that blog? Have you recently installed any “code cleaning” browser add-ons? There was one that would just randomly kill bits of a blog.
I’m going to flag this for staff, as they can see when things were deleted and by whom.

I am the only admin and I haven’t recently installed any add-ons.
I’ve been doing some more research into this and I think I’ve had 2 problems:
1) I deleted some of my media library pics, but I have re-uploaded and re-inserted these, resolving the issue myself, however…
2) Images are simply disappearing from my media file. For example, I posted these only a few weeks ago and the images were still in my media file, but now they are gone, even though I didn’t delete them:

I would be grateful for any help, as I don’t want to have to re-uplaod and re-insert every image! Thank you.

Using that post as an example, I’m seeing that the files associated with that post were deleted two weeks ago using your account.

I’m sure I didn’t delete these images, they were just gone from my media library when I checked. If I re-upload all the pics they be guaranteed to remain? I just don’t want to go to all that effort to have them disappear again.

If it were me, I would upload them again, and then change my WordPress.com password and switch to two step authentication with SMS:
