Why are my featured images not displaying on my homepage

  I set some of my images as featured images, but when i go to my homepage, the images are grey, but when i click on them, I can see the images on the individual post page.

  You haven’t set a Featured Image on any of the three posts currently in your slider. Here are directions to do that:
