Why are my images not showing in the slideshow?

  When I add pictures using the media loader, they do not show up in the slideshow, but do show up on the post. The image count also doesn’t show up in the post summary. What am I doing incorrectly? I am using the Avid theme. Thanks.

  Hi there,

  For the Avid theme’s slideshow feature and image count to work on gallery posts, you’ll need to follow these steps:

  Posting galleries

  1. Navigate to Posts → Add New.
  2. Choose Gallery in the Format metabox. This will change the post from a regular blog post into a gallery.
  3. Optionally add a gallery title and description using the title field and WordPress editor, respectively.
  4. To add your gallery to the page, begin by clicking the Add Media button.
  5. Go to Create Gallery and either upload new photos or choose existing photos.
  6. When you have chosen and ordered your images, click Create gallery, then Insert gallery.
  7. Set a “Featured Image” by clicking the Set featured image link. This will be used as the thumbnail to represent the gallery throughout different pages on the site.
  8. Save your post.

  Thank you! I was missing the Create Gallery step and was simply inserting photos.
