Why are our pictures sometimes tiny?
-
Our theme is Suburbia; our pictures sometimes appear in tiny versions, smaller than thumbnails. If I refresh the page, the problem corrects itself. This is with Internet Explorer 9. Clearing the browser cache doesn’t seem to help. If I open our site at the same time with Firefox 12, the pictures are fine. I made screen shots and can send them.

Hi there – screenshots would be useful, could you please upload them to your Media Library and links to the images here?
Could you also please provide a couple of links to posts or pages where this is happening? Thanks.

I just uploaded two “double” screenshots to our media library, double in the sense that each combines a section of the page in question as it appeared in Firefox and a section as it appeared (yesterday AM) in IE 9. Here are links:

The problem can occur (and has) on pretty much any page; it can happen with smaller images and with larger ones. I thought once that it might have to do with whether or not the page was magnified, but I don’t think that’s a factor. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it happen with Firefox or Safari. I tried getting a newer version of IE9; Microsoft says I have the newest. And this is an intermittent problem; yesterday’s occurrence was the first for me in a long time. -
Thanks for the screenshots.
I had a look here in IE9 and the contact page is fine, but you mentioned it’s a sporadic problem. Could you please try clearing the cache (“temporary Internet files”) and browser cookies in IE and see if it helps?
Thanks!

I think that’s exactly what I did the other morning when the problem reappeared, and clearing the temporary Internet files didn’t seem to help. Now of course it’s not happening. And I don’t know if it happens to anyone other than the two of us who are registered users. If so, no one (out of 10000+ views) has told us.

If this happens again, I suggest you immediately try looking at your site in a different browser on the same PC, such as Firefox or Chrome. That would help us confirm whether this is an issue with your browser. Good luck!

This is exactly what I did; that’s how I got the screen shots showing the pictures normal size and extra small. Is it possible that this problem would show itself only to the two of us who are registered users? When I go to our page in Firefox, I’m there as a “civilian.”

Interesting theory, but I don’t think so, because when I looked at your site in IE9 here on my end, I was not logged in, either.
To rule that out next time, you could log into your site in Firefox and see if it suddenly shows the same problem.
You mentioned clearing the temporary Internet files last time – did you also clear the cookies in IE9 as well?
