Why are the "Share" buttons corrupting front page of blog?
-
When I check the share button for “Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results” the front blog page gets all messed up. The font size increases everywhere on the page and every image gets a box around it. If I click into the post it’s fine. By the way, this only happens in Internet Explorer.

I assume you’re referring to http://lisadreissig.com/blog/ but I don’t see any problems.
Were you able to resolve the issue?
If not, please try clearing your browser’s cache: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

Thanks so much for the response!
Yes, it’s lisadreissig.com/blog. I’m still having the issue and I’ve tested on three computers all of which I’ve cleared the cache from. I’ve only tested it on Internet Explorer 9.0.8, because that’s the version I have on the three computers I’ve tested it on. See below for screenshots:

IE (corrupt): http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj90/operationcondo/corrupted-internetexplorer.png
It’s definitely the share buttons for Jetpack because as soon as I turn it off from appearing on the “Front Page, Archive Pages and Search Results” the page looks fine in IE again. I really want to be able to have the social buttons on the front page of the blog so I’d really like to get this straightened out.
Thanks again!

Are you referring to the buttons at the top-right of the page? If so, those aren’t added by Jetpack. They appear to a part of the theme.
Jetpack’s Share buttons are added below the posts.
-
No, I’m referring to the Jetpack share buttons that appear under each post. On individual post pages it works like a charm. However, on the main blog page it ends up corrupting everything as demonstrated in the screenshot I included above. If I uncheck the box in Jetpack to disable the share buttons from appearing on the front page then the page returns to normal. Any idea what can be causing it?

Hm, I’m not sure. Do you have any better luck if you enable or disable Compatibility mode?
Compatibility mode in IE 9 renders everything as IE 7, which we really don’t support.
-
Compatibility mode doesn’t seem to help at all. I tried that before posting. Have you been able to recreate the issue? Do you have IE9 on your machine?
-
I do, but it’s on a virtual machine. I’m still half-way through updates, which is why I asked first. ;)
I’ll get back to you in a few minutes.

I narrowed it down further! The culprit is the LinkedIn button. I added the buttons one by one to see if it was an individual button causing the issue and sure enough it was. I now have all the available buttons, but have removed the LinkedIn button and it works as expected. This is good enough for me as I don’t think LinkedIn is that relevant to this site, however it should be reported that there seems to be some sort of a bug with the LinkedIn button.

Ok, thanks for checking on that, we’ll look into it as soon as I can get IE 9 up and running. :)
