Why aren't the comments on my blog working for everyone?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have had two people today telling me that they tried to leave a comment on my blog, but that it’s not working. Some others do seem able to leave comments, however, so I am wondering what’s going wrong. I have checked the settings and there shouldn’t be anything preventing anybody leaving a comment…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I double-checked your blog’s settings, and everything looks fine. It’s possible that some of your site’s visitors have settings in their browser or computer that is causing a problem for them. Did they let you know if they received a specific error message when they tried to leave a comment?

If those visitors are WordPress.com users, they will need to have third party cookies enabled for your site. (This is because your site is using a custom domain, and third party cookies ensure they stay logged in to their WordPress.com account while visiting your site and leaving comments.) They can check their cookie settings under Checking your browser… here: Preview Problems and Third Party Cookies

You can also let those visitors know that they are welcome to contact support directly to troubleshoot the issue: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
