Why can I no longer transfer still images from LiveJournal to WP?
-
I am in the process of copying my blog “Carole & Co.” (http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com) from LiveJournal to WP, doing it month by month. Things had gone fine so far (though I will have to manually copy YouTube videos from its site), but I just copied its January 2010 contents to the new site (http://caroleandco.wordpress.com), and for the first time, still images didn’t transfer along with the words. What is the problem, and what can I do about it?

Copying and pasting images is problematic, and depends on how your browser handles the data.
It’s really best to just upload the images: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
Also, why haven’t you just imported your LJ site via Tools -> Import in your Dashboard?

While I call “Carole & Co.” a blog, it’s actually an LJ community, and when I tried to import with Tools, the only thing I could import was my rarely-used personal blog. If there’s another method to go about importing communities to WP, please let me know.

Yeah, we can’t import communities.
In that case, you’ll have to stick to copy and paste, and upload the images.
