Why can I not see a blog that I am following?

  I accepted an invitation to a private blog but I cannot access it. I go to log in and it says “connecting”, then it says “protected blog” and nothing happens.

  Hi there,

  I see that you were invited to that blog, but the invitation hasn’t been accepted yet. (This happens if you had to sign up for a new WordPress.com account after clicking the “Accept Invitation” button in your invitation email.)

  To finish accepting the invitation, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your WordPress.com account.
  2. Open the invitation email for the private blog.
  3. Click the “Accept Invitation” button, or copy the link from the bottom of the email and paste it into your browser.

  If you have any further trouble with that, please let me know. :)

  I did as you instructed me to do. I clicked on the “accept invitation” button after login and it said “user is already a member”.

  Now what? Thanks for your help.

  Hi there,

  It sounds like there may be a glitch with the invitation you received. I just resent your invitation email — can you please check that new email and try accepting the invitation from there?

  If you get that error message again, please let me know.

  Hi there,

  I see that now your invitation has been accepted, so you have access to that blog. You can now log in to your WordPress.com account and visit the blog to view it.

  If you still receive a message about it being a protected blog, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache. If you have any further trouble with that, please let me know.
