Why can I only add written/visual content to half of my home page?

I have created a static homepage for the website and have chosen to utilise the home template. I want to add writing and images, but it is for some reason formatted in a way that nothing appears on the right side where the widgets usually are. All the writing i have put simply stays on the left half of the screen. I do not know how to change the formatting or how I can get information to be equally distributed on the page.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The Responsive theme you’re using is designed to display the home page’s content on the left side, and a featured image on the right side. You can add a featured image to your home page to see how that looks, or check out the Responsive theme demo to see an example of that page layout.

As long as you’re using the Home template on your site’s home page, the content will always appear on the left side with space for the featured image on the right. If you don’t like that layout, you could experiment with some of the other page templates, for example the Full Width template.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
