Why can't I add a new user as administrator in my wordpress.com blog?

This looks a bit odd, doesn’t it? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3600660/screenshot-users.png The blog is reporting 3 users but only shows 2. I, the blog owner of http://imaginethecitymessolonghi.wordpress.com/, “olgadaskali”, invited “dtzortzis42” to become an administrator of the blog. He accepted but when he tried to log in he saw a screen saying he doesn’t have the rights to be administrator and he should ask to get invited.
I tried inviting him again but without success. Even though he is does not appear in the list of users in the blog I still get a message saying “user already has a role in this site”.
Any help please? Apparently this is an issue of many users as I found out in the forums and by searching the web. No solution has been suggested unfortunately.

I don’t see any history of invitation for that user. Would you please try inviting him one more time?
