Why can't I administer my blog site?
-
I have managed to create two blogs with two user names and passwords for the same material. Please log in with user names (email visible only to moderators and staff) and baldwinjb to observe. The former was my initial effort, but won’t allow me to choose themes, etc. I created another blog, chose responsive theme and started working up pages, but can’t seem to install them. The sidebars for the two creations are even different, with no “Plug-in” selection and an abbreviated listing of “General Settings” for the latter. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
There seems to be a mix up between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. You currently have both. Your domain: bigsimplestuff.com is pointing to your WordPress.org site hosted by BlueHost.
You also have a WordPress.com site: bigsimplestuff.wordpress.com. Currently, you purchased a Domain Mapping upgrade pointing your WordPress.com site which is pointing to your WordPress.org. I know it can be a bit confusing.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
You can tell which Dashboard you are in by looking at the site address. Once you log in, if it has bigsimplestuff.wordpress.com in the URL that is your WordPress.com site. For example the link to your WordPress.com Dashboard is: https://bigsimplestuff.wordpress.com/wp-admin/. But your WordPress.org site will not have .wordpress.com in it.
If you want access to plugins it would be a better idea to stick with WordPress.org. If you still want bigsimplestuff.wordpress.com to point to your WordPress.org site, you can leave it. However, if you no longer want to use your WordPress.com site, I can provide you a full refund for that.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions as I know it can be a bit confusing!

Thank you sincerely for your prompt attention. I will not continue with the WordPress.com site. You may refund the mapping cost if that is your policy, although I am willing to accept responsibility for my part in this. Either way, you have been most helpful.

Hi there,
I have refunded for the domain mapping. I’d hate for you to pay for something you wouldn’t use. :) Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
Happy Blogging!
