Why can't I register a .be domain?

  I want to register a .be domain via the upgrade but it says the domain is already registered. My other registrar says it’s still free. What is up here?

  WordPress.com supports registering domains with the extensions .com, .org, .net, or .me. You can still map domains with other extensions to your blog – you just have to register them with another registrar and then map them to your blog.
