Why cant I transfer my registrar?

    Hello,

    I’ve been trying to transfer my registrar of http://www.jorgevazgomes.com to bluehost, and though I did everything WordPress asked for (cancel private registration, unlock the domain, provide EPP code), I still get this message from bluehost:

    According to the Gaining and Losing Registrars, it appears that the codes you’ve supplied were correct. Once you tell the Losing Registrar (the current Registrar for jorgevazgomes.com) to release the domain, we will be able to accept the domain into your account. You should receive an email from the Losing Registrar asking you to approve or decline this request. Please follow the instructions and ACCEPT the transfer. If you choose to DECLINE the transfer, you might be able to receive a refund within 90 days if you contact customer service. You may also have to contact or to login to your old registrar to manually release the domain. Otherwise, if you can just wait 7 days, the Losing Registrar should release the domain automatically.

  • Hi there, that email looks normal, and your domain should be released automatically within 7 days from when you received the message.

    If you run into any issues after that time frame has passed, just let us know.

  • Thanks for letting me know. May I log into your domain administration area to have a look? I will need to change your domain-manager password to do this, but you’ll be able to change it back afterwards – is that OK?

  • I’ve logged into your account and everything looks good to go – the domain is unlocked and you have no privacy on the domain, which are the two things that can sometimes block a transfer from going through.

    Could you please re-initiate the transfer on the BlueHost side? Once you’ve done that, please log into your domain control panel at WordPress.com and head over to Domains > Pending Transfers, as you can see in the screenshot:

    Once the domain appears in this Pending Transfers area, you should be able to select it and then choose the “accept” option – the green thumbs-up icon – to speed up the transfer process.

  • For security, you’ll need to reset the password at your end. You can do that by setting a new one in the “New password” field, as you can see in this screenshot:
