WHY CAN'T IMPORT MY BLOG FROM WORDPRESS TO A SELF HOSTED SITE!!

  I cannot import my blog from wordpress to a self hosted site. I have tried everything. Exporting from existing blog, importing the XML file into new blog – it doesn’t work. And no, the file is not too big. I have exhausted the internet looking for help, what can I do. The import starts and when it gets to 100% an error message comes up “the file does not exist” Please help.

  Have you tried asking at WordPress.ORG?

  How big is the file?

  The file is 6221KB.

  I have asked, the tutorials I am directed to, all say the same thing, but none answer the problem! :)
