Why did my custom domain change stop pointing to the wordpress.com site?

We mapped a custom domain on GoDaddy to WordPress, added the domain in the WordPress Store and paid for it, and updated the primary domain. It worked fine yesterday, but now “www.swillburg.com” is pointing to the old website, rather than the wordpress site, “swillburgneighborhood.wordpress.com”. Also, typing in “swillburgneighborhood.wordpress.com” takes you to “www.swillburg.com” and the old website.

    Hi there,

When you make changes to your domain’s settings, it can take 48-72 hours for those changes to take full effect. (This process is called DNS propagation.) Until the process is complete, you may see your domain switch back and forth between your old and new websites. However, I checked and everything is set up properly — if you give it a little time it will sort itself out.

If you have any other questions or concerns about this, please let me know!
