Why do I have to subscribe to a domain which will cost between £3 & £36 extra per month,ontop of original subscription!?f my

  Why do I havre to subscribe for a domain name please ?

  Hosting with WordPress.com is absolutely free and it comes with a free subdomain. if you purchase a plan, using the custom domain credit that comes with the plan is optional, but is free for the first year.

  If you want to use the credit and discontinue the subscription after the first year, you can cancel it by following the instructions here:
