Why do my comments get rejected as "you do not own that identity?"

  I enter a comment on a blog, using my new WordPress identity. The blog rejects my comment with the following:

  Error: WordPress.com

  You do not own that identity.

  I am entering my exact username, copied and pasted from my profile.

  I didn’t sign up for a blog. I just want to be able to comment.

  EVERYONE does.

  Using Open ID or “WordPress” with Blogger if you have a custom domain is like banging your head against a wall. It simply does not work.

  Sometimes you can get it to work by entering the underlying wordpress URL like raincoaster.wordpress.com instead of raincoaster.com. Otherwise, don’t use it. Just use Name/URL.
