Why does an added user need a password?

  I am trying to add a user (Robert9988) to my website. He cannot access without a password. Neither his wordpress password nor mine work.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  How is the software supposed to know that it’s the authorized user if he doesn’t sign in? If he keeps getting his password wrong, he should click the “Forgot my password” link.
