Why does either "draft" or publish to a schedule not work?
-
Scheduled publish doesn’t connect to social media. It also doesn’t publish. Draft, when I publish, doesn’t really publish. Neither connect to social media.
Not much good if it doesn’t work.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

These features only work if you write, don’t save, don’t edit, and publish immediately. Otherwise, they aren’t much good.
-
Scheduled posts do not publish until the first visitor to the site after the date and time scheduled clicks in and triggers publication of the post. Until that triggering happens there will be no autoposting to social networks. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/#troubleshooting-scheduled-posts

Yes, but what about drafts? If I’ve saved a draft, and then publish it, it does not automatically connect to social media.

Thanks–I’m new to this, and I have this weird expectation that things are supposed to do what they say they will.
-
It also seems to be kind of counter-intuitive. If you publicize that there is something new, people have a reason to look at your blog. Most people won’t (at least I won’t) go looking at a blog unless they have reason to believe something is new since the last time they looked at it.
So, that’s kind of backwards, and needs to be fixed.
And the whole turning something from a draft to a published post is just so weird that it’s stupid.

Hi there!
Our Publicize feature definitely works with scheduled posts! However, sometimes it won’t work because the social media accounts ‘time out’ their connection with us. Can you please disconnect and reconnect your sharing accounts through Settings > Sharing?
https://pastchristian.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing
I checked your latest post “Throwback Thursday” and our system shows that none of the Publicize account were selected to share to. Before you hit “Publish” on your next post, can you click on the “Edit” button next to your social media accounts and make sure that they’re all checked off?
I have this weird expectation that things are supposed to do what they say they will.
This is generally our goal! We don’t want to create services that don’t work as you expect them to or are unhelpful. We’re always open to constructive criticism and suggestions for how our services can be better.
And the whole turning something from a draft to a published post is just so weird that it’s stupid.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean here. Many of our users draft and revise their posts before finally publishing them, or scheduling them to be published. I’d love to pass on any suggestions you have to make this better or more intuitive.
