Why does Image not appearing on post when it appears on a linked page?

    I posted a new post which included a photograph. It posted correctly with the image on the home/front page as expected. I also linked the post (by category) to appear on a separate page. The text of the post appeared on the page as it should but the image didn’t.

    Hi Rachel, thanks for looking into this. Here’s my blog. You will see I have set up 2 menu pages on the menu bar for both my holidays. I had to delete the original site and upload a new one – same text just different url.

    I have done a test post on both pages. You will see that on the home page, the test text and image appear but when I click on the individual pages via the menu, only the text appears – the image doesn’t

    It’s probably something very simple but I can’t figure it out and it’s driving me nuts!

    Thanks for showing me those examples! I can see how that’s confusing, but let me show you another category page from your site so you can compare:

    http://my2014holidayblog.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/

    As you can see there, the category page shows just an excerpt of the post. You can click through to view the full post. The reason you’re not seeing that “Continue reading” link on your other posts is because there is only a small amount of text in each post.

    That’s how those category pages are designed — they are only meant to show an excerpt, without photos, instead of showing the full post. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    Ah, I understand now! Thanks, that makes perfect sense. As long as I have enough text (and I will) there will be the ‘continue reading’ link which leads to the full text and images!

    Logical if you think about it. I haven’t used categories before (or a menu either) so I was a bit flummoxed. Thanks for the explanation.
