Why does my heading disappear?

  When I write the title of an article, sometimes it doesn’t show up and there’s a big white gap where the heading should be. How can I fix this?

  It looks to me like the source of the trouble is the custom color settings you’ve selected in Appearance → Themes → Customize → Colors. Selecting a different color palette would fix it.

  As an aside, I think it should be easier to setup colors that work well in that panel and you should never be able to get white text on a white background through the tool like you’ve been able to do. I think it’s a theme-specific issue. I will check into that to see if we can improve the color settings for the Newsworthy theme to make it better.

  The thing is, I’d prefer to avoid selecting a different colour scheme, because the blog is focused specifically on Birmingham City FC, who play in Blue.

  Sometimes the title that shows up is in orange, which although I’ve not actually selected that colour, I don’t mind. My problem is sometimes it doesn’t actually show the title, and it’s just white space, would like to have this fixed.

  My instinct is it has something to do with hyperlinks. My article titles seem to have links from the home page, to a page which only has that article. The site seems to have a problem with hyperlinks to other sites, whenever I include them it ends up being white gaps.

  In any case, you will need to adjust the colors because what’s happening right now is that the linked titles (and other links) are showing up as white text on a white background when they shouldn’t. Updating the only the color setting for links should work.

  That’s correct. That’s the color setting that needs to be updated.

  It’s based on the colors in the heading image, so the blues should match exactly.
