    I am trying to add a new post to my blog, and the following message comes up, not allowing me to save the post. ‘An error occurred while saving the post.
    That method is not allowed. ‘

    This is a first!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    That’s a first for me, too! Does this happen every time you try to create a new post?

    Also, has anything changed with your computer’s setup? (For example, are you using a different internet connection than usual? Have you installed any extensions or add-ons in your browser?) Those details will hopefully help me track down what’s causing that error to appear.

    anyone has the solution for this? it has been like this when i used laptop to update, always show the same error and i cannot do new posting. However, there’s no issue if i update via phone.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for those details, kaeefamily! It helps to know that it works on your phone.

    Do you have cookies enabled in your browser? Cookies are used to make things work on WordPress.com (and other websites), so disabling them can cause problems — that might be causing this error.

    In the Chrome browser, for example, you can check your cookie settings like this:

    1. Open Chrome’s settings page (you can visit chrome://settings/ in Chrome to get there)
    2. Click “Show advanced settings…” at the bottom of the page
    3. Under Privacy, click the Content Settings… button
    4. Under Cookies, check which setting is selected.
    5. The recommended setting is “Allow local data to be set (recommended).” That allows cookies, which are used on many sites including WordPress.com to make sure everything works correctly. If you have “Block sites from setting any data” selected, and you want to keep that setting, please be sure to add an exception for [*.]wordpress.com by clicking the Manage exceptions… button there.
