why has my blog vanished?

  I seem to have accidentally wiped out my original blog in the process of opening a new one. The original one is mymovingadventures.org. I am so upset I feel like throwing up. Please please help.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I seem to have deleted my original blog mymovingadventures.org in the process of setting up a second blog. I feel like throwing up. I love my old blog so much. Please please help.

  Hi there,

  Let me see if I can help sort out what happened to your blog. I want to assure you that your new blog couldn’t have wiped out your older blog here at WordPress.com. It’s possible that some other change had an effect on your blog, though, so let’s look at that.

  According to our records, you set up a WordPress.com account and blog four months ago, and you mapped the custom domain mymovingadventures.org to that blog. However, you never created any posts or pages on your WordPress.com blog.

  I see that you originally registered the domain name mymovingadventures.org through DreamHost. Did you make any recent changes to your domain settings for mymovingadventures.org? It’s possible that you had a self-hosted WordPress blog set up at DreamHost, which would be separate from your blog hosted here at WordPress.com. In that case, you may have published posts and pages over at DreamHost. (You can contact DreamHost support, also, to find out what domain and hosting services you have set up there.)

  Please let me know if you have any questions about that.

  Thanks, I’ll pursue the possibility at DreamHost. But my blog definitely existed, with numerous postings and pages and other people visited it and now it doesn’t!

  Do let me know what happens with DreamHost. I totally believe that your blog existed — if your blog was hosted over at DreamHost, but you recently changed your domain mymovingadventures.org to point to WordPress.com, that would explain why those posts and pages disappeared.

  In that case, you can just point your domain back to DreamHost and all will be solved. :) If that isn’t the case, please let me know and we can keep investigating this mystery!
