Why Is My Blog Not Being Distributed to Public
-
Hello: I’ve had my blog for a few years and the only views it gets is based on the links I spread around by FB and Twitter. It doesn’t get sent out to the public to circulate for years. http://cherylmerilresponds.wordpress.com
I went to visit the privacy setting section to see if it’s not publicly circulated and WORD PRESS has removed that feature leaving me with no options to see the public/private status of my blog. WordPress has oversimplified managing my blog doing everything for me as a user behind the seens taking up all of my time posting articles that don’t get published ANYWHERE.
Less control over my blog, it’s sitting without interaction with anyone but myself. Someone went in and removed it from public view and it wasn’t me. It has misled me to believe it’s being published to search engines when it is static and dead.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I need to know where to go to confirm if it’s a private blogsetting. That feature was removed. I just need a simple response and don’t need any other information for now.
-
It’s about whether WordPress is not allowing my blog to be published to the public view. Because I’ve spent an enormous time coding my blog posts. I was never notified it wasn’t going for public view.

I know how to get stats, and and there is no evidence my blog is being distributed to the public when I PUBLISH the article I wrote. No one visits my blog unless I send out a link or they are familiar with my own personal marketing. MY BLOG APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PLACED ON A PRIVATE SETTING. How can I find evidence of whether it’s on a private or public setting? The former way we did this was removed from me as administrator.

SOLVED: So I went to manage blogs on the dash board and was able to confirm it’s a visible, not private blog. Apparently publishing the blog does nothing to get it out there to the public. Thank you.

Hi there, I just want to come back to what you said in your initial post
I went to visit the privacy setting section to see if it’s not publicly circulated and WORD PRESS has removed that feature leaving me with no options to see the public/private status of my blog.
Your site’s Privacy settings are located at https://wordpress.com/settings/general/cherylmerilresponds.wordpress.com If you navigate to that page and scroll down a bit, you should see a section that looks like this in this support doc
https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/ If you are using the WP Admin dashboard, Privacy settings are under Reading at https://cherylmerilresponds.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.phpAre you able to see the Privacy settings in your site’s dashboard? If not, please grab a screenshot of what you do see and upload it to your site’s media library. Thanks.
As far as getting your posts out there to the public, it looks like you post only from time-to-time, so search engines may take longer to update their results with new content. If you have a Google Search Console account, you might resubmit your site map to help speed things up. https://wordpress.com/support/sitemaps/
Regardless, anyone subscribed to/following your blog will receive it by email, if that’s what they’ve chosen, or in the WordPress.com Reader. https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/66964522
Hope that helps, but post back here if you have any other questions about this.

Thanks for the info Jennifer. I read the data wrong, it’s just the search engine links that aren’t being used much. I located the privacy section and the site’s being indexed. I have a small audience of 300-500 a day. You were right my views went down when I didn’t post in a while. Thanks for your help! Much appreciated.
