Why is my domain link showing as ‘This domain is parked’

Hi, I was trying to make changes to my website/domain settings and now I see that the domain shows as ‘This domain is parked.’ while this was already transferred to another provider.

Hi there!
It looks like you canceled the domain instead of transferring it to another registrar in the proper way. The domain is parked because it’s canceled. It will soon into the redemption period when it’ll cost $80 to restore the domain.
Assuming you wanted to continue using the domain, we can restore the domain so that you can transfer it to another registrar by following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/
We have a limited window before the domain enters into redemption, so please let us know as soon as possible if you’d like us to restore the domain to your WordPress.com account.

Hi Aisajib,
The steps suggested in “transfer-domain-registration” were actually performed a few weeks ago and the transfer was completed, something happened later on and we don’t know how, but it got reverted, not knowing about this we mistakenly canceled the domain in WordPress.com. Now it’s not even listed in the account anymore to redo the transfer.
A support ticket with aws was also not helpful.
There was no option in WordPress to undo and now it seems like it’s already in the redemption period.
Is there still a way to revert the cancelation in WordPress so that the “transfer-domain-registration” can be re-performed?Thanks for your help.

Hi there!
Looking at the logs of this domain, I do see that the steps mentioned in transferring the domain registration page were performed. Our logs indicate that the auth code for the domain was sent to you. However:
1. The auth code was likely not entered at the new registrar’s end (which kicks off the actual transfer process by the gaining registrar).
2. The domain was canceled before the actual transfer process could be initiated or completed. The domain status changed to ‘parked’ after the domain was canceled (which happened before the domain could be transferred out). During my previous reply, we still had the time to restore the domain for you so that you could re-try the steps for transferring the domain.
However, as the domain is in redemption now, you’d need to restore the domain first before you can transfer the domain. There’s an $80 redemption fee on top of the domain renewal fees. Without redeeming the domain, it’s not possible to transfer the domain at this point.
You can learn more about domain redemption here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
You can, of course, wait for the redemption period to end and for the domain to be released into the market again, which takes a long time; but then, there’s no guarantee that you can be the first to register it when the domain is eventually released into the market.
Let us know if you’d like to proceed with redeeming the domain and we’ll send you the payment link via email.
Regards
