Why is my WordPress.com site still showing 7.0.1?

My site is hosted on the free WordPress.com plan. The Updates page says “Your version of WordPress is up to date,” but the server settings still show WordPress 7.0.1. Since WordPress 7.0.2 is the latest security release, I’m wondering if WordPress.com has already backported the security fixes to 7.0.1 or if my site is still waiting for the rollout.

Your WordPress site is likely showing an old version because your browser, hosting server, or a caching plugin is storing a snapshot of the old data. When you update a site, the changes are saved to the database, but systems often serve cached copies to make your site load faster.

Delete the cache and check again
