Why is published content not showing on admin screen?
-
I’ve just logged in and there is only one of the pages I’ve made showing there. The image library is empty etc. The website is still fine with all content working and all the pages there when you go to them. I want to add another page and am worried that it will unpublish the content not showing on the admin panel when I try to add something.
If you could help that would be great!
Thanks, Kate

Hi Kate,
Your WordPress.com blog is linked to the domain katehopwoodjewellery.com. This domain is currently pointed to a different website hosting provider, so it won’t display the blog you have here at WordPress.com. Instead, it displays this site: http://www.katehopwoodjewellery.com/
It looks like that site is hosted by Heart Internet, so you will need to go to your hosting account there to manage this site.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this!

Hi Rachel,
Thank you for the prompt reply. You’ll have to bear with me as I had help to set up the site at the end of 2011 and I’ve been happily logging in and editing it since with no problems except having to reset the password loads. So I don’t understand what’s changed to make what I’ve been logging into all this time different. Or what to do to get back to what I was logging into! My website hosting and domain are supplied by fast hosting direct. I recently had a problem with them after I paid my domain renewal for the year they didn’t do whatever they had to do and the website started showing a domain expired page so I wrote to them and they sorted it on there end and it started working again. I don’t know whether this is something to do with the current issue? It seems unlikely as I added another page after that happened and when I logged in that time all the pages were there.
If you could try and explain things a bit more because as far as I’m concerned logging in to the wordpress admin area is the only way to add and edit the website. Have you any idea why the content has suddenly disappeared and is only showing the first page added in 2011? What should I do to get it all back?! I would really appreciate your help as I don’t have the person available to me that helped in the first place!
Many thanks
Kate

Hi Kate,
I took another look at your site, and I see that it is using the WordPress.org software. Just to clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: WordPress.com and WordPress.org
You should be able to log in to your WordPress.org site to manage it at this link:

I hope this helps!

Hi Rachel,
I followed the link and entered my details and it doesn’t recognise them! I tried to get it to send me a password reset but it says that it doesn’t have my email address registered. I have had a lot of problems logging in and have had to get it to send me a password reset link almost every time but that works and then I can get on to it. Not this time though!
When I follow the reset links sent in the past, that have got me on to the dashboard with up to date content, I can log in but then there’s the version with one page on it up there rather than the up to date one.
As I said before I’m not the expert when it comes to all this! So I’m not sure if it can be something I’ve done?! Is there any way that you can send me my log in details so I know exactly what to enter and where to get on to the right thing. I can’t understand where the version of things that only has one page on has come from either!
Thanks again for your help

Hi Kate,
Your login details for your self-hosted WordPress.org site at http://www.katehopwoodjewellery.com/ are different from your login details for WordPress.com. The support staff here at WordPress.com does not have access to the administrative end of WordPress.org sites, so we are unable to help you regain access to that site.
If you’ve lost your password for your self-hosted site, you’ll need to try one of these solutions:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_PasswordIf you need further assistance, WordPress.org has a complete support site for self-hosted versions of WordPress here:
