Why is WordPress telling me my domain name is taken?

  I own the domain name, but it’s telling me the name is taken. I was working with a web designer, but she disappeared on me and now I’m trying to figure out how to get back into the program and build my blog. I purchased the domain name from Go Daddy and hosting. Now I need to set up a WordPress blog and connect it to the host and name. I have no idea what all this supernatural blah blah stuff is. It’s supposed to be supernatural-television.com

  If you own an existing domain name it can be mapped to a blog here with the instructions below

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  If you have hosting from GoDaddy then what you’ve got is a WordPress.ORG blog. There’s no particular reason for you to have a WordPress.COM blog too; the two are entirely separate unless you connect the domain name to the Wp.com blog via domain mapping.
