Why my Twitter Jetpack widget is not working?
-
On the admin Panel I have dragged the Twitter Jetpack widget to the only site sidebar.
I’ve entered complete info in the gaps: title, username, max tweets to show, hide replies checked and text between timestamp left blank.
When i go to my public page, the twitter list is broken, it just displays one with an “a”. But the title link remains.I don’t have a clue of what’s going on.
Please help!

I do see a Twitter widget on the frontpage, is that the one you are using?
Otherwise please try and disable all other plugins and reactivate Jetpack. This way we can see if other plugins interfere with Jetpack.
Also make sure you are running the latest WordPress and Jetpack version:

Hey kardotim,
here’s the follow up… after various tests, I discovered that if the Hide Replies box was checked, it will show the bug… only one < l i > and an “a” … so I turned it off …
but in the other hand, my blog http://nrmal.net is using the same widget and has the same symptom, I haven’t changed the Hide Replies box, hoping that was some kind of error between the Twitter API and Jetpack…
both sites run latest WP and Jetpack versions, and I’d already tried turning plugins off and it didnt worked…
what might be the problem?
I don’t have a clue… -
Would you please switch to the Twenty Eleven theme temporarily to see if the same problem reoccurs?
-
I will try that later in the night…
even though, I’ve been using Jetpack for a long time with my themes, and this started suddenly with some of them, I’ve double checked the code and I haven’t found anything that points me to an answer…
and just to confirm, in my blog http://nrmal.net/ If I check the Hide Replies checkbox, the bug occurs…. now that is unchecked you won’t be able to see it.

Themes can often interfere with the display and function of widgets, just like plugins, so it’s definitely worth a shot.
Now that I’ve said that, please try temporarily deactivating all other plugins too.
-
I activated the twentyeleven theme and turn all the plugins off, except Jetpack obviusly, and still got the error (one < l i > with an “a” as content, “1 hour” timestamp)
I’m talking about my blog at http://nrmal.net/ which is runnig WP 3.4 and Jetpack 1.4.1
Here’s a printscreen:
http://nrmal.net/wp-content/uploads/twitter-jetpack-error.pngSo by now I’m totally certain that:
– it’s not a theme problem
– it’s not a plugin interference
– it only happens when the “Hide replies” box is checkedYet, in http://lataqueria.ca/ page as soon as I updated WP and Jetpack (with current versions: WP 3.4 and Jetpack 1.4.1 ) everything started to work properly.
So everything is turning more complex than I thought… I’d love to hear your recomendations, I’m totally lost.

On lataqueria.ca, are you able to duplicate the same issue if you use the same Twitter name?
