Why no plugins?

no plugins available. I already have a site up and it have more features that I want. I want to put a slide show on my site. it’s a christian site. wordpress have not convinced me to switch over. I spent all night trying to fit a slide show on my home page. with out those plugins the site is just plain and will not capture the audience i am catering for. thank you.

While plugins are common on self hosted WordPress sites, due to security concerns, they are not available on WordPress.com. There is more info regarding WordPress.com and plugins here:
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/
