Why open a blog when I just want to comment?

    Just commented on OfCourseMe.com and got email with plethora of options to open a blog which I don’t want to … I just wanted to comment. Why this long formality?

    https://ofcourseme.com/ is not hosted with us on WordPress.com and doesn’t use our commenting system – that site is not connected to WordPress.com in any way.

    I also checked our logs for your email address, and we haven’t sent you any emails besides notifications related to this forum thread for the past week.

    So the email you’re referring to doesn’t sound like it came from us, and was likely sent by the owners of that site. Please contact them directly if you have questions about that.

    No offence intended. Just curious because no website asked me so many queries. When I clicked on the blue button, the site asked me to open an account.

    Will appreciate if you could explain this behavior.

    The site owner may have some extra features added to create that behavior. Please provide this feedback to them directly, as we don’t have control over what features they use on their own copy of the free software.
