I set up https://colinharrison.org/ a few years ago, and I continute to pay for it. Why won’t WordPress let me edit my site???

It’s changed my username to colinharrison83b28ccb9c7a

When your username appears with a randomized string of characters like colinharrison83b28ccb9c7a, it almost always means you are logged into a newly created or secondary WordPress.com account—often created accidentally via Social Login (like Google or Apple ID)—rather than the primary account that owns colinharrison.org. Because this secondary account doesn’t have Administrator rights for your site, WordPress won’t grant you access to edit it. Try logging out completely and signing back in using the original email address and credentials you used when you first purchased the site. I have also flagged this thread for Staff / Happiness Engineers so they can check the account ownership details behind the scenes and help connect you to the right login!

    Hello,

I can see that you are currently logged into an account that is not the administrative owner of colinharrison.org. When signed into a secondary or newly registered account that holds no active subscriptions or administrative permissions for the site, WordPress.com restricts access to the editor.

To regain access and edit your site, you will need to log into the primary WordPress.com account that owns the site:

    1. Select Log Out from the account menu in the top right corner of WordPress.com.
    2. Clear your browser cache or open an Incognito window to prevent automatic login redirects.
    3. Log back in using the primary email address and credentials associated with colinharrison.org.
    4. If you no longer have access to the original email address or password, submit an account verification request through the Account Recovery form.
    5. Provide a valid proof of ownership on the form, such as a Transaction ID from a previous payment receipt, an original Activation URL, or a two-step authentication backup code.

Our system requires at least one verified ownership token to update access rights and safely reconnect administrative privileges to your site. You can review the full technical requirements in our Verify your account ownership documentation.
