Widget has changed or updated

So, the Home page had widgets on the sidebar. They have been there all along, I just update or replace them accordingly. Now the widget has changed to being able to do a block text. But, my legacy widgets no longer show on my sidebar. Within the widget, I can see the legacy widgets and it says it appears on the sidebar. But, this is not true. They can no longer be seen on the Home page. I don’t know how to fix/resolve this issue for the time being. I might try my hand at the new style of block widgets. But, as a test I changed 1 thing, it had an update feature I did the update. Return to the main dashboard. but the home page did not update. do I have to publish the home page again for the change to be seen by me?
