widget html code into sidebare

  I want to use a link from gofundme.com to display the widget on the sidebar. I copied and pasted the html code into a Text block like it said to do. But when I save it, wordpress changes the link entirely to something else. When I go to the blog to look at it, instead of the widget that the link is supposed to display, it only has a regular link. What can I do to fix this?
