Will changing my blog address affect post permalinks?

If I change my wordpress.com address to another wordpress.com address, will it break the post permalink like it breaks the page permalinks?
If so, is there a way to change the post permalink so I don’t lose the individual post when I click on the title?

Hi there,
Changing your blog address will change your post permalinks, so if someone visits the old permalinks they will not end up on your blog at the new address.
One way to fix that is to keep your old blog address (instead of discarding the old address) when you change it. That way, you can use a Site Redirect upgrade to direct visitors from the old permalinks to the new ones. We have more details about that in Step #7 of this guide: Changing a Blog Address

I would rather go directly to my blog without having to go through redirect. If I just change the blog address will it only affect the posts already in my blog and after the new address change will the new posts permalinks work?

Hi there,
Just to clarify, if you change your blog address it will change the address for all of the posts and pages on the blog — those posts and pages will keep working, just with the new address. Within your blog, those links get automatically updated.
For example, if you change your address from ejeiram.wordpress.com to newejeiram.wordpress.com, all of your posts will use that new address. So your recent post at http://ejeiram.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/from-the-telephone/ would have the new address http://newejeiram.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/from-the-telephone/ instead.
All of the links on your blog get updated with that new address, so if someone goes to your blog at the new address and clicks on a post title they will be directed automatically to the right place and will be able to read the post there. Visitors just won’t be able to get to the post if they only have the permalink http://ejeiram.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/from-the-telephone/ and try to go directly to that post using that old permalink. They will need to start by going to your blog at the new address.
