Will deleting my .com site delete my .org site?

Hi, I used to use a wordpress.com blogsite (www.5thand59th.wordpress.com). Last year, I upgraded to a wordpress.org site and host through bluedomain (my site is http://www.5thand59th.com). I ONLY use the new site now, but today I realized that google is still showing my OLD wordpress.com site as a top result above my new wordpress.org site. I just now paid to have my wordpress.com site redirect to the wordpress.org site for now, but I would LOVE to just get rid of the .com site altogether. I wanted to email and check first to make sure that deleting the wordpress.com site will not ruin my wordpress.org site. (If it deletes all of my old blog posts, that’s fine by me, I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t going to delete my entire wordpress.org site.) Does this make sense? Sorry, all of this stuff if kind of confusing for me. Haha.

    Thank you for your help!

  • Deleting your WordPress.com site will not affect your WordPress.org site, but it will stop the redirect.
