Will deleting one of my sites impact the other?
-
Good afternoon! I have a WordPress.com site (mackthemaverick.wordpress.com) that I don’t use at all and I have a self-hosted wordpress.org site (www.mackthemaverick.com) that I do use. I noticed that a lot of people (especially other WordPress users) are subbing my .COM site by accident. If I delete the .COM will it impact my .ORG site at all? Again, the only thing on my >COM site is a message telling people to go to the new site instead. I have not further use for it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@mackthemaverick it wouldn’t hurt to make your WordPress.com site private instead of deleting it, that way you’ll know how it affects things.
Also, you can move subscriptions from one site to the other:
http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/And we have a site redirection option that may work well for you too, since folks may be coming in from search engine links, or other links out on the web. With a site redirect, any one who hits an old link would just be sent to the same article on your new site.

@supernovia I will try the site redirection. I have been manually migrating subscribers since the beginning, and when I set the site to private, I just get email requests to approve people. This mainly happens when people try to follow me from within WordPress.
