Will I be able to install plugins with a wordpress domain

  My blog is on wordpress.com and I find that some features are missing, For example, a facebook LIKE button for each post would be nice and feel somewhat basic nowadays. Of what I understand this is possible only through the addition of plugins. My question is, if I unlock/buy a domain on wordpress, will I be able to add plugins and modify the blog as much as I want? Or maybe is there another way to achieve what I m trying to do?

  No – no Plug-in’s allowed here – security reasons

  There is some sort of a Facebook thing so you are not completely lost on that part
