Wishful Features

  Not having a problem per se but there are some features that would be immensely helpful in the free WP.com version. I’m a recently convert to WP and have enjoyed the service thus far except for these two pesky little details. But as the subject says, it’s wishful features…

  1) Category sticky notes: Ability to have sticky note in particular categories and not on the front page. For instance, I have 14 categories and would like a sticky note in each but I don’t want 14 posts cluttering my front page. Looks like a number of people want to do this because WP.org has all kinds of solutions.

  2) Automatic Featured Image: Ability to automatically set featured photo for the first photo in the post. Currently, for every post, whether from my phone or online, I have to go into each and every post and select my featured photo. Again, I’ve googled this and it seems like I’m not the only one with this issue.

  Any chance these are on the list of improvements? And if so, when can we expect them?

  We haven’t really had any requests for those features before, but I’ll add them to the list.
