WooCommerce Tech Flexibility
-
Hi there! I want to know about WordPress.com WooCommerce PaaS tech structure. I’m planning on create an eCommerce with this setup, but I’m kind of worried about how much flexible are those accounts. Basically, I want to know if I have (in any of the plans) the same features as a self-hosting WordPress platform. I need to edit some file permissions to enable a payment plugin for my country (Chile). Also, I need to connect an external app and pass/receive data from WooCommerce API. Is this enable?
Finally, could I upload custom themes and edit CSS/HTML code from them? Thanks!

There are limitations with the WordPress.com business plan.
– No FTP access
– No direct database accessBut you can upload a custom theme, use plugins, and have access to a dedicated support team, 7 days per week, via live chat.

Thanks Liz for your answer. I have a couple of deeper tech questions about this:
I need to integrate a Transbank plugin (Chilean payment method) on a WooCommerce WordPress.com PaaS solution. For this, the vendor of the solution request some dependencies (modules/extensions) on the host machine for PHP:
– Soap
– OpenSSL 1.0.1 or higher
– SimpleXML
– DOM 2.7.8 or higherAre these modules already installed on every sandbox available for business plans? Is there any chance of doing this by ourselves, or by the support team?
Thanks again!

Hi @cplopezlopez, your site will meet those requirements. The plugin should set the proper permissions when you install it, too.
