WordAds custom theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

I was thinking about signing up for a paid Jetpack plan one of the reasons is for WordAds but using a custom theme.

Are there ad block codes that we can add to our theme for WordAds similar to Adsense or does it not work like this?

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

For the ads to be displayed there’s no need to manually enter any code anywhere on your site. Jetpack takes care that for you.

To see the size and the placement of the ads, you can read the official FAQ:

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

    Hey

Yeah I did read this article it makes reference to themes with integration.

Is there no way to choose in our theme where ads display? E.g. choose where in the content of a post we want the ad, use widgets for ads etc?

    Thanks.

  • @mattlovett have you thought about adding widget areas in your theme where you’d like ads to display?

Once you have widgets areas, you can use [wordads] as a shortcode in a text widget to display ads there.

Ah I wasn’t aware we could do this, that is very useful. How do we decide what ad size to use though or will it just effectively fill the widget area automatically?

Is this the only way to choose how to insert wordads then using the short code in the widget area?

Or could we also use the short code within content as well e.g. within a post or page’s content?

    Thanks.

  • I believe you can use the shortcode as you like. :)
