    if i use bluehost with wordpress for my blog, do i still need a wordpress account?

    Hi there,

    WordPress and WordPress.com are two different things.

    The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com, the hosting provider. You only need an account with us if you want to host your site with us, or otherwise use the Jetpack plugin, have a Gravatar.com profile, or a user account on some other services we integrate with, namely WooCommerce.com, Akismet.com or VaultPress.com.

    If you host your site at Bluehost, you’ll be using the open source WordPress software. You don’t need any account to use that software, except for your Bluehost account and your site’s admin account that will be created when you create your site. Do note that some Bluehost hosting plans include the Jetpack plugin by default, and you will need an account with us to use that plugin.
