WordPress 5.3 update forced scaling of images larger than 2560 pixels
-
The new 5.3 updates basically screwed me. I am in the process of setting up a custom photography shop and must have the ability to upload massive photos. I was able to do this until the recent 5.3 WordPress update. Now, WP automatically resizes (scales) all my large photos. I don’t want them resized. I absolutely have to have the ability to upload high-resolution images. I read a note on another forum that said this feature can be disabled, but I am not a programmer so I don’t understand the ‘directions’. They just said…
‘Note: You can disable automatic image resizing with the `big_image_size_threshold` filter.
Can someone please tell me how to add this filter? I don’t understand what a ‘filter’ is either. I assume this is some type of coding that must be done. WP should have made this an option instead of forcing the scaling on everyone. My photography shop is completely on hold and offline until I can find a workaround for this.
