WordPress Account Issue

  Hey all,

  Hope you’re doing well!

  A new WordPress user here,

  In this video timestamp 3:43 and onwards, how does the Youtube creator automatically have a WP-admin for his lightsail wp instance without even having a WP account? This happened to me – I had previously created a WordPress account I intended to use for my lightsail, however upon following these steps, I simply had a extracted password and a default “user” with no email whatsoever. Also, I cannot login with my extracted user/pass on normal wordpress.com site.

  Any explanations/help?

  Hello there,

  This particular WordPress user is using what’s called self-hosted WordPress – which is different to WordPress.com.

  There’s more on the differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ and the two are considered complete separate.

  You wouldn’t need WordPress.com if you’re using self-hosted WordPress.
