WordPress admin
-
I have recently taken over helping a friend change hosts for their website. On the new dashboard it says that the WordPress is broken, but i am unable to update it, and cannot access the wp-admin page anymore. All I get is;
There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

There is no email and the old hosts have deleted the server

What is the URL of the site you are trying to access? We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.

The URL is http://www.penn-lawn-mowers.co.uk.
I have also contacted our new hosts on this matter, and the have looked in to this and this is what they have sent me if this helps
Upon checking, I was able to see that there exist certain PHP parse errors on the file post.php which causes the WordPress site to malfunction. In particular, the error is as follows :
[Sun Apr 04 18:55:36.027351 2021] [fcgid:warn] [pid 628308:tid 140270419019520]
[client 217.194.216.227:58572] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Parse error: syntax error,
unexpected ”post_st’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE), expecting ‘]’ in /var/www/vhosts/penn-lawn-mowers.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 121Please do have a check with your developer as it seems to be a code error. You can find this file from your Plesk panel, by going to File Manager, then by following the path
httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/post.php
Apart from the mentioned errors, there appeared to be multiple errors on the same file. It is better to download a fresh WordPress and reinstall

Hi there!
I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hosting UK.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
