WordPress Admin Access

Several years ago I registered and created a wordpress website for my high school classroom (whiterdesign.org). It has been dormant for several years and I think that the email address that I used to create my wordpress account has since been deactivated/changed. I would like to access the admin panel for the site to try and update it, but I can’t access the admin panel and when I try to reset my password the email is probably being sent to the deactivated account. How can I get access to the admin panel for an old website with a new email address?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I’m afraid we can’t help you. The domain, whiterdesign.org, has never been registered or hosted here. It also doesn’t look like that domain is currently registered at all.

If you were using WordPress at that domain, you were using the open source version found on WordPress.org, and you would have had it hosted with a specific hosting provider. Any files for the site, including backups, would be with that hosting provider, though if it’s been several years, chances are the hosting account has also long since expired, and that the hosting provider has already deleted the data for the site from their servers.

If that’s the case, your old site is likely gone, with no way to recover it.
